Auto 310
Summary | Main Characteristics | Notes - Related Units |
Energy-saving, series-circuit type,
system electronic flash unit. TTL Auto (Quick Auto 310 with OM-2 + Accessory Shoe 2), Normal Auto (3 apertures) and Manual (2-stage output) can be instantly selected. The Quick Auto 300 does not support TTL Auto; this flash was discontinued when the OM-2 and Quick Auto 310 were introduced. |
Guide number 34 (ASA 100, m) at peak. The coverage angle is almost equal to the picture angle of a 24mm super wide angle lens. TTL Auto: the Silicon Blue Cells of the OM-2 (TTL Direct Light Measuring System) work also as the flash-light sensor. The features of the system are: 1) ASA film speed and aperture need not be set on the Quick Auto 310 2) lens aperture is used continuously 3) extensive working range 17cm~23m (F1.2 lens, ASA 100) 4) auto macrophotography and photomicro- flashphotography is possible 5) flash-light acceptance angle coincides with lens picture angle. |
With the OM-2n (or any other OM body),
the Quick Auto 310 cannot achieve TTL Auto. Four 1.5V "AA" batteries must be used (Ni-Cd batteries may not be used). Accessory Shoe 1 or 2 (for TTL Auto with OM-2) must be mounted on the OM camera body. Synchro Cord is necessary for a camera having no hot shoe and for off-camera flash operation. To perform Normal Auto bounce flash, Bounce Grip and Remote Sensor are required with OM-1 (or other camera). For TTL Auto bounce flash, Bounce Grip and TTL Auto Cord 0.6m with OM-2 + Accessory Shoe 2. Lens Pouch 200 can also be used to hold the Quick Auto 310. |
