Notes - Related Units |
A teleconverter that multiplies the focal length of the main lens by a
factor of 1.4, while reducing the effective lens speed by one stop. This converter can be used with the following lenses: 1) 180mm/F2 2) 180mm/F2.81 3) 250mm/F2 4) 300mm/F4.5 5) 350mm/F2.8 6) 400mm/F6.3 These lenses will effectively be converted into: 1) 250mm/F2.8 2) 250mm/F4 3) 350mm/F2.8 4) 420mm/F6.3 5) 500mm/F4 6) 550mm/F8.8 Three of the lens elements use high refractive index, low dispersion glass, so that the unit itself produces virtually no aberrations whatever. 1Because of a change in optical design, this combination is only matched with lenses that have a serial numbers larger than 200.000. |
Comfortable in all circumstances where carrying an extra super telephoto
lens is impractible. The converter costs much less than any of the super telephoto lenses it can replace. |
Because of the protruding front element, only the lenses as named under
'Characteristics' can be used. Trying to use other combinations may seriously damage both the lens and the converter. The converter comes with a special front cap. |
